The potential for harm or adverse consequences should be considered upfront and steps taken to minimise risks and problems.

CONTRACTS

We have a suite of standard contracts available for Australian horse enthusiasts. All contracts are prepared by experienced equine lawyer, Michael Mackinnon. Go to 'About Us' to read his profile.

Michael retains copyright in all contracts authored by him and retailed by HorseForce. Reproducing or plagiarising them is illegal. Penalties up to $10,000 apply and offenders have been prosecuted.

Michael can tailor any of our standard contracts to meet special circumstances. Recently he has prepared contracts for a stallion owner selling special breeding packages, someone selling a share in a stallion, an authority for a professional sales agent and a training and campaign contract for a professional rider.

BUYING,SELLING AND LEASING HORSES

Use a contract because your rights will be clearer and easier to prove. Oral contracts are unreliable.
